Tradewinds Dairy Goats

Welcome to

This past September, I decided that it was time for me to get a website,
especially since I need to put together a sales list for this upcoming year.
I felt that an online sales list would be easier in the long run and something
that could be updated. So, I was telling my daughter, Alison, this on the
cell phone, and in a matter of minutes she called me back and said my website
was already registered. It is and I owe this
new endeavor to my son-in-law, Cameron, who is creating it. It has been
a fun experience, updating my herd records and looking at old pictures from
when I got started in goats over twenty years ago.

While our first goat was a doe given to us by a neighbor, the foundation of my herd really started with two does (Singing Spruce Rhinestone and Signing Spruce CSP Victory Lap) that I purchased from Claudia and Mark Johnson of the Singing Spruce herd.

This year we decided to get back on DHIR test rather than relying on just a One Day Official Test to show our does’ milk production. Right now I have four does that are projected to milk over 3000 lbs. We also participated in Linear Appraisal this year. It has been several years since the does were appraised and it was a great learning experience. We attend about 8-10 shows during the show season which normally begins around Memorial Day and ends with going to the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville in early November.
